Plot Summary:El Sueno Americano is the intimate character study about Cuathemoc, a young Mexican man who dreams of becoming an American citizen and bring his wife and daughter from back home to experience living the American Dream. Cuathemoc soon realizes his dream is becoming a nightmare as he enters the United States as an illegal immigrant and struggles to find work and the financial gain to bring his wife and child to New York City. With no money and meager jobs that can barely allow himself to survive, Cuathemocs cruel and racist employer taunts and abuses the young man at every turn. Soon, the tension between the two men reaches breaking point and a tragic accident results that threatens to destroy Cuathemocs dream forever
