Plot Summary:In the tiny kingdom of Euphrania, the King and his court are most anxious to get Prince Edward wed. But Edward wants to marry for love. Meanwhile, young Cinderella finds life drastically altered with her father's death as she's forced to be a servant in her own house. But a cheery fairy godmother helps her with her impossible tasks, and even gets her to take an evening out at the King's bride-finding ball. But when the magic wears off, and the prince with shoe-in-hand searches for Cinderella and finds her, what is going to happen to Euphrania without the needed marriage alliance to prevent war?

用镜头技巧、魔术手法和舞台化调度的方式来展现童话故事真的太合适了，不用特效观感也特别好特别有趣。原本以为结尾反转得有点拖沓，但“Tell him anything but not that I loved him”确实美到意料之外了。

理查德！荆棘鸟里的神父，经典！这部剧算是经典的歌舞剧了。
小时候看过，当时觉得王子挺帅的，现在一看，怎么长这样？不管咋样还是好看，有人说配音不好，我挺喜欢配音的，就过去的配音很有感觉。

现实的童话，国配
巴洛克版灰姑娘。相比美国对欧洲的土法意淫，英国毕竟还是欧洲一衣带水的一部分，况且当初也是法国贵族文化的热情簇拥，演绎起欧陆童话起码外观不输。当然此版的再演绎也堪称各版灰姑娘里仅次于《灰姑娘的三个坚果》的存在，在制作的规整精良程度来说则可称居首，在原型故事里填充的都是英国文化偏务实羞于浪漫的底色，小到各种英式幽默，大到对阶层固化的自嘲，最大的改编就是让王子不再只作为灰姑娘对象性的客体道具，而成了受现实身份束缚的冲突性的主体人物，比灰姑娘更缺乏选择对象的自由，他的王国并不君临天下，而只是一个要考虑周边外交生存环境的中等国家，于是英国人便自然联想到了童话的最后一页外，王室一家会不会接纳灰姑娘的现实后续，让画风几乎翻转成了音乐剧般的阴郁了。还好最后必须扳回大团圆，因为娃娃们打死都不可能接受悲剧结局啊

1979年《大众电影》第5期封底使用了王子与灰姑娘亲吻的剧照，署名 中国共产党党员 问英杰 的读者（在没有看过电影之前）便写信指责编辑部是在宣扬资产阶级的腐朽思想，是背离毛主席的文艺政策，还扬言有胆把这信刊在杂志上。杂志果真刊了，并请读者评议。第10期杂志上，刊载了读者来信情况，共8000余封，编辑部读了5000多封，仅3%的读者同意问英杰同志的观点。 【看的是上译配音版，歌舞部分是原声；“仙姑”给灰姑娘变衣服、鞋子、马车、仆人的部分无配音，疑似这段不符合唯物主义而删减……
