Plot Summary:Volume 7, Number 1 of the series goes behind the scenes of a county fair by following a farm family and their participation in various segments of this American tradition. The sons of farmer Roy Insley are learning, through their 4-H clubs, modern and innovative farming techniques while his daughter is becoming adept in the domestic arts. Harry W. Smith's camera follows the family through the fair as they ride the carousel, watch the trotting-races, and compare the production they are exhibiting with those of other farmers.
