Plot Summary:An FBI man with Sioux background is sent to a reservation to help with a murder investigation, where he has to come to terms with his heritage. Slowly he rejects the intimidating tactics of his fellow FBI agents, who are not so interested in solving the crime as covering up an incriminating situation with the locals, and as he becomes more tuned to his heritage, the locals begin trusting him. 表达有点cheesy，但有些真实事件只能这样改编。
主线故事是印第安人保留地内的一连串阴谋与犯罪，故事本身除了好人坏人大部分一眼就能看穿外，其他部分都很不错。而且片中一直能从各种细节体现出印第安人的无奈境遇，与白人相处的尴尬，种族内部的冲突。主角态度和对自身的认知变化，也是一场印第安后裔的追根溯源。 片中有很多留白式的镜头和人物描写非常好，什么都没有刻意去说，却非常打动人。
需要特别指出的是：海报上的主人公不是约翰尼德普，片中那个名叫格雷厄姆格林的演员不是英国名作家在高龄客串……
3.5.大致借鉴73年伤溪河事件为背景，主题上聚焦于印第安保留地内部印第安运动支持者与当权派民兵组织之间的冲突与混血主角的认同问题，略过曲折的阴谋论故事背景也引出了保留地的土地问题。迪金斯的摄影突出了保留地的脏乱贫穷与周围自然景观的粗粝壮美之间的对比，结尾追车戏拍出了群马奔腾的感觉。
Sam Shepard太抢戏了。。。
哎对印第安人题材的电影已经是哭笑不得了。我想说这不是“西部”片好吗？
