大量的粗言秽语不绝于耳，满眼的地名毒品名平生未见，也许正因为如此地贴近现实，它才那样的使人铭记。繁杂浮华的都市，性交易合法的希腊； 一群自小跟随父母越洋到此的俄罗斯男孩，在牛郎与瘾君子的人生角色中来回演绎，彷徨迷离的眼神里流露出对现实生活的不惑……但一颗年轻的心却在执着地探寻幸福的意义。 本片的头号男主角并非同志，却被一位拉皮条的同志深爱着，这位拉皮条的同志宁愿将手上最赚钱的妓女卖掉，只为为男主角赎回沦为妓女的未婚妻，可恨男主角不觉间爱上了这名妓女，还要英雄救美般地带她脱离虎口…… 关于本片，还有一条支线不得不提：一名性向不明的牛郎爱上了自己的嫖客，他开始妒忌其他被叫牛郎，开始监视嫖客行踪，甚至冒死私闯民宅，结果不幸从几层楼上直摔下来。 影片颇有荒木经惟（Nobuyoshi Araki）摄影风格的神韵，朴素纪实拍摄的作品正是对弱势群体最真实的写照，行...The "Edge of the City" means Menidi, a poor suburb on the edge of pulsating Athens (the city). Menidi harbours many Cosssack Greeks. They are also called "pontios", ethnic Greeks from the Black Sea dispersed through the ex-Southern Soviet Union in the Stalin era. The "pontios" have returned to Greece en masse after the demise of the USSR. The parents speak mostly Greek, but the teenage children speak a hybrid Russian-Greek language which reflects their lack of identity and marginalization in Greece's highly xenophobic society (the only EU country where no minorities exist!...officially). The teenagers' marginalization leads them to the core of the film's theme: the lives of petty crime and prostitution which these second or third class Greeks lead.
