厄尔（杰森·李 Jason Lee 饰）躺在医院洁白的病床上细数自己的前半生，才发现在这漫长的时光里，几乎没有发生过什么好事。此时，电视里的一档综艺节目给予了他灵感，自己如此的倒霉，或许是因为坏事做的太多。于是这个大块头男人下定决心，要从此刻开始，做个好人。 　　蓝迪（伊桑·苏普利 Ethan Suplee 饰）、凯瑟琳（娜丁·维拉兹盖兹 Nadine Velazquez 饰）、达内尔（埃迪·斯蒂普斯 Eddie Steeples 饰），厄尔的这一干损友在得知了他的“好人计划”之后都显得十分兴奋愿意助其一臂之力，只有前妻乔伊（杰米·普莱斯利 Jaime Pressly 饰），面对她那要洗心革面的前夫显得如此不屑一顾。不管怎样，厄尔的计划顺利的开始了，很快他便发现，生活发生了翻天覆地的改变。
