Plot Summary:HyperNormalisation tells the extraordinary story of how we got to this strange time of great uncertainty and confusion - where those who are supposed to be in power are paralysed - and have no idea what to do. And, where events keep happening that seem inexplicable and out of control - from Donald Trump to Brexit, the War in Syria, the endless migrant crisis, and random bomb attacks. It explains not only why these chaotic events are happening - but also why we, and our politicians, cannot understand them. The film shows that what has happened is that all of us in the West - not just the politicians and the journalists and the experts, but we ourselves - have retreated into a simplified, and often completely fake version of the world. BBC这部纪录片野心很大，以近四十年的世界格局来反映尚未完全走出现代性困境的人类所面对的后现代性困境。旧权力结构和管理模式所带来的去个性化让个人主义呼求与日俱增，种种权威因为权力形式与施受模式在不断迅速重构与解构中因此变得不再具有公信力。网络平台作为无政府主义平权试验场开始爆炸性发展，但现实与真相也正因为这成为诱导人们价值观和思考方式新工具的种种网络景观而被虚化并逐渐可被操作和塑造。政治成为了由谎言堆砌的作秀和以操控舆论并激发人们潜在暴力性的去道德式活动。而人类历史经验也正逐渐与新事物的发展模式脱钩，日渐增多的人类行为形式和欲求种类在尚未被系统性提出与建立的新组织形式和管理模式之中，让整个世界正在走向不可预测的境地。人类自身则正毫无知觉地在自己给自己创造的梦境中完成一场不计后果的全球性狂欢。
