Her life is ephemeral, but her impact is eternal. When she was fifteen, she has nothing. However, when she left the world, she has full tears of the world. She is Avita—the first lady of Argentina, forever.
The 135 minutes showed the brief but legendary life of Avita. When she was little, she was prohibited to seeing last glimpse of her father, just she was poor and humble, which laid the groundwork of her realized dream in the future—to be one of the powerful people in Argentina. Therefore, when she followed a popular singer to Buenos Aires who abandoned her last, she didn’t flinch and successfully became a social butterfly in the upper circle. After that, she met Peron who is a promising political man at a charity event and married him. After she became the first lady, she run through the waves and toiled the rocks for the poor for her entire life. And that’s why all people cried when she passed away at such young age.
I am deeply touched. She is certainly one of the greatest women in the world. She has the beauty envied by others, the ambition disappeared on others, the mighty not reached by others. To be honest, she should be our model. Maybe it’s not absolutely correct that she makes use of men to reach her goals, but I do agree that we can’t blame her for that is equal and ordinary in such exchanges during the long history. And I am happy to know that Peron loved her, and she owned a true lover in the end. Otherwise, she would be a lonely and miserable woman though the whole country loved her.
We can’t imitate her to devote all ourselves to the poor, but we could do imitate her venerable spirit—wait with hope, breakthrough with resolution. Most of us are trapped in our ordinary lives, drifting along aimlessly. We feel easy with the unchanged lives but uneasy with the changeable lives, reluctant to wake up. Sometimes we desire success strongly, however, we just wait with no effort. Of course, that’s wrong. Avita tells us with her entire life that we should wait with hope when we are defeated by the momentary reality, and seek breakthrough with our resolution keeping hard until we succeed. She gives us a useful lesson we all need.
Glad I see this great movie, sad I see it so late.
