Plot Summary:Like a ticking time bomb this behind the scenes build-up to the world's first all-electric Grand Prix series counts down to the season's curtain-raiser race in Beijing.\n\nFrom the moment Formula-E is announced in Paris to the blistering secret tests at a rain-swept Donington Park, we are taken on a high-tech romp through the bruising shakedown to get the cars to work.\n\nThe state of the art battery-powered racers, specially designed to battle it out on city-centre street-circuits, prove harder to master than the ex-Formula-1 drivers expect. The team engineers struggle to understand the fearsome power that electric motors deliver, while coping with the searing heat generated by 700-volt batteries that are ready to burst into flames if the cooling fails - which it does.\n\nPredictably, as the lights go green the drivers see red and start racing, inevitably ending up in the gravel when they should be gently finding their Formula-E feet. Brakes designed to recharge the batteries lock-up, components fall apart, suspension struts break and computers pack in.\n\nWhile back at the factories in France and the UK, the struggle to build 40 identical state-of-the-art cars for the 10 international teams to field on the first grid turns out to be a race in itself. This is no small-time game. Some big constructors have nailed their reputations to the new formula including Williams, McLaren, Renault and Michelin and new companies have joined in like recharging wizards Qualcomm, while some familiar names from the Formula-1 pits - Mahindra, Virgin, Trulli, Andretti, Senna and Prost - are all out for glory: racing to be the first to win the prize for the world's best battery-powered team in Formula-E.\n\nThis is Formula E: Racing Recharged
