Plot Summary:Pretty Kitty sends Smaxon and Jimstack, her two unwelcome suitors, off to await her under the old oak tree when she will elope with them. (Of course, neither knows of each other.) Kitty then elopes with Tom. Smaxon and Jimstack do not realize how lucky they have been until one day they peep into Parker's window and find him scrubbing the floor and she reading a novel.
