A less welcome encounter is with abrasive new landlady Vasilia, who confiscates the furniture until the rent is paid. Louisa's solution is to create traditional British fare to sell and is grateful to Spiros for sharpening her sales technique. Gerry is more concerned with breeding otters whilst Margo, having failed to woo a young monk, considers becoming a nun.
