Three Chinese women come together in one of the most vibrant and kaleidoscopic metropolises in the world.They have considerably different personalities.
Once I was in New York,I tried to grasp the vibrancy of this metropolitan city.I went to Chinatown to experience this old Chinese residence in the US, where Maggie Chang ran a Chinese resturant in the movie. My Chinese American friend and I had a dinner in one of those resturants,most of which are run by Guangdong and Hongkong people. Here, immersed in this brassy and kind of insular community,I imagined that I were back in Hongkong, or the south of China, on condition that I didn't take the low temperature outside into account.
It is an excellent movie!It tells of Chinese American life from different angles.After all, A cheng is one of the playwrights.
