Edi, like any other young girl, full of dreams, full of curiosities, always wanted to see the world outside grey gardens, always wanted to meet new people. Year by year, her color was fading into grey, but she still wanted to go out to explore the unfamiliar world. However, her mum stopped her, in a soft way, by providing a shelter. She wanted to leave, but she needed a better reason, better than the reason she should stay.
She tried once, but returned with a broken heart. Year by year, she just let her youth fade in grey gardens until one day two men came to visit. Two cameramen came to make a film about her. They reminded her the dreams had been long forgotten. She started to regret. She started to blame. However, what could stop her if she insisted. She could have struggled in the city for her dreams. When she held back, she was safe again, but she missed all the possibilities and opportunities. She missed the whole dangerous but colorful world. She chose to stay in grey gardens, by her mum’s side, for safety, also for love. She spent her youth to tick away her mum’s lonely time.Year by year, her youth was fading, but her dreams never died. The dangerous world outside grey gardens became even more tempting, even with pain. If she could turn back time, she would rather give a try.
Finally, she got a chance to enter the sin city again. She faced it with pleasure, and she was welcoming anything. What makes the world dangerous makes it beautiful.
