Shonda Rhimes, you finally did something good. Because way too often, what you did to characters was just BRUTAL, I was repeating "prepare for the worst, hope for the best" to myself, clicking open the episode impatiently. Then I saw Jackson and April holding hands, running and kissing... And I was ECSTATIC. I thought my chest was gonna explode with that sudden, overwhelming happiness. Eager to see more of their hard-won felicity, I got April walking away from Jackson instead. Which immediately put me in a foul mood after like a second of joy. As the episode went on, I kept becoming more and more furious. It seemed they had gone and done it again. Giving me a little bit of sweetness and hope but then a ton of bitterness and anxiety. However, right until the very end, to my utmost surprise, it all turned around. Just when I was bracing myself for another on-again-off-again torment, there they were, together and married and happy -- a once-in-a-blue-moon fairytale ending on Grey's, made so much more valuable to and cherished by me because of all of my waiting and wondering and suffering. Although April still hasn't stated or proven her love yet and Jackson is irritatingly still the one doing all the giving, although I'm wishing desperately for more fluff (and less drama) since a mere two minutes is downright cruel like giving an alcoholic a sip of wine, although I just read that I probably won't get the chance to relish any more of their "honeymoon moments", I'm not gonna let my usual over-thinking, gloomy, pensive, melancholy, perfectionistic self win this time. For once, I'm gonna stop futilely worrying about the future, and live in the now -- to savor this bliss, which is practically impossible to come by.

I gotta stop always asking for more and start appreciating what I already have. Stop pitying that their honeymoon stage is going to be short-lived, just for drama's sake. Stop worrying that they won't get their fair share of screen time, due to all those people I don't give a damn about. Stop complaining that I will never see their wedding, let alone a gigantic & romantic one. Keep in mind: April chose Jackson, which I thought was impossible. They are officially together, which I thought would take YEARS -- IF EVER. They are happily married, whereas I thought there would be EVEN MORE YEARS before marriage is even on the table. CONTENT IS HAPPINESS. Likewise: So what Jen didn't win that second Oscar? So what Ellen's introduction and her presentation weren't perfect? So what everyone's adoration is seemingly turning into fatigue? Remember: She is still the youngest person ever to score 3 Academy Award nominations. She bagged half of the various awards, including one more Golden Globe and her first BAFTA. With no campaigning whatsoever this awards season, she effortlessly made Supporting Actress the closest race of them all. More than enough.
