The space we are looking intoo appears entirely flat, without any hint of perspective.

The camera is static throughout, and the film is composed of long shots and disruptive inserts which pick out minuscule details such as the threadbare end of an electrical cable next to the chipped paintwork at the bottom of a door, or the curled edge of a sheet of paper.

The viewer is uncertain if the movie camera is located within that physical space or if the film has been shot from a still photograph.
