3、再八下，其实Katherine是PK掉了Jennifer Love Hewitt和Kate Bosworth才拿到这个角色的。我个人十分赞同导演的慧眼啊。
4、值得一说的是这部电影上映后Katherine闹出的风波。当年这部中小成本电影一举拿下2亿多美元票房跌破众人眼镜，各大媒体抢着做正面报道时，Katherine却发出了不和谐的声音：“我觉得这部片子有些性别歧视，它把女性描绘成无幽默感的神经紧张的泼妇，而把男性描绘成可爱的滑稽的风趣的人物。”（“a little sexist. It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys. It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I’m playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you’re portraying women? Ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie.”）
幸灾乐祸的媒体跑去采访导演Judd，对方开始就是搪塞一句“我真震惊她会用'泼妇'(shrew)这个词”就顾左右而言他了。不过在媒体强大攻势下，导演终于松口：“If people say that the characters are sexist, I say, yeah, that's what I was going for in the first part of the movie, and then they change.“
媒体风波搞得Katherine很沮丧，她一开始只是打算提醒一些女性观众别把通俗喜剧太当真，结果给自己惹了一身腥。《卫报》把K评价为“忘恩负义的叛徒”，“虚伪的”，《名利场》描述她是“自负的没耐心等待男友求婚的志在必得的人”。一些人预计她再也无法接到电影。不过事实正好相反，这部电影把她带上事业的高峰，从30万美元的收入起步，她的接下来几部电影收入分别是600万和1200万。不过她大概是跟Judd闹翻了，两人再也没合作过，Judd对媒体说一直没等到她的道歉。我靠，有必要道歉么？
一个feminist的女演员真让人那么讨厌么？反正我不。我倒是挺喜欢Katherine身上贴的"a potentially important and assertive modern proponent of women's rights"的标签的。连艾美奖都据的K姐的一股执拗劲我特别喜欢，尽管有时候她的坚持看起来不知轻重不识大体。摘一段她说她选择老公Josh的话，我相信这能解释的通她的那股执拗劲。
“As women, we have more of a tendency to be people-pleasers, and I know a lot of women who are not vocal about what makes them happy. I was like that in my early 20s, but not anymore. I spent a lot of time not being clear about who I was and what was important to me. It’s easy to be taken advantage of if you’re not honest. I knew that dance of trying to please a man, trying to guess what they want you to be, and I got really tired of that, really confused and frustrated. I decided I was sick of trying to figure out what everybody else wanted, and I should just decide what I want, and be honest, and not spend all my time guessing. Josh is the first serious relationship I’ve ever had where I was like, This is me. From the moment I met him, I said, This is what I want and what I need.”
