Yesterday I found the best way for me to improve my English and French. Watching French movies with English subtitles.
I watched 「La Fidélité」(Fidelity) .Un film de Andrzej Zulawski avec Sophie Marceau. I cannot find the fucking Chinese simple subtitle so I use the English one the only one I could find.
But fortunately I understood this movie .I even couldn’t help tears streaming down my face as I watched it.
It’s all about one word ---- fidelity.
It’s a film subverting my Value.
I cannot image there are someone in the world who regard fidelity more important than love.
I understand why Clélia do these. But just understanding is not enough for me to do the same thing if I were she .I will rush towards Némo the one I really love absolutely. Even I won’t marry with Clève at all or I’ll rush out of the church’s door and hug Némo who stands there alone at the wedding moment and tell him how much I love him.
But Clélia didn’t do this because of fidelity the only thing she thought could make her happy.
At the whole wedding, she looked loss and a little sad that has been photographed by Némo.
Between love and fidelity, Clève’s brother, a Bishop of the Church, chooses the former as most of us would do. In the name of father we do what we really wanna do. Because God is always in our heart or in another word we are the God.
But Clélia chooses the latter. Without a doubt she is a special one. I respect her very much though I am on the other side of the fence.
At the end of the film, while she said “sorry” to her dead husband, I cried.
Alhough she never have sex with Némo, she was just attracted by him. It’s a soul Betrayal.
Everyone has his/her right to choose.
We can choose love so does she. Or she can choose fidelity following her own faith.
When she saw the Illusion her mother and father go for walk on the street hand by hand, she decided not to see Némo again.
Because she believed she would have happy only if she lived with her husband even she didn’t love him. She made the same mistakes that her mother did.
The person suffered most pain in the film is not Clève, Clélia’s husband, nor is Némo,the one she love, but Clélia herself .
She tried to cheated on her husband, once, the only once. But she found she couldn’t. She just couldn’t.
I think the so-called fidelity is not be fidelity to one’s companion nor loyal to the love itself.
But fidelity to our own heart and our faith.
Perhaps, Clélia’s husband, Clève, is a symbol of fidelity too.
He even died for love.
Someone said, I couldn't imagine where it was going but like staring at a fire I just couldn't get up and turn it off.
It’s also my feeling.
But that’s the way her love goes.
It makes me associate she with Fakir._ _|| And I even remember Silas, the killer in” The Da Vinci Code”.Orzo.
By the way the photograph in this movie is very fabulous.
大好きだよ。
Last, I’ll share you a sentence I see on net.
「The resulting movie is a waste of time; wash your socks instead.」
It’s said by one person who have watched「La Fidélité」.I’m not going to agree the words but I like the expression “wash your socks instead”. It’s funny .HIAHIA…HIAHIA...
