Astrophobia is the fear of celestial objects or others surrounding it. Depending on the person, this phobia is linked to the fear of dark, fear of aliens (alienophobia), or fear of space exploration. Astrophobia may also be connected to fears of the dark, being alone, or being away from home. Films such as "Gravity" address the cold emptiness of outer space. Astrophobia can also stem from a fear of space exploration, triggered by such catastrophes as the explosions of Space Shuttles Challenger and Columbia.
Xenophobia is the irrational sensation of fear experienced about a person or a group of persons as well as situations that are perceived as strange or foreign. Xenophobia is derived from the Greek word 'Xenos' meaning “foreigner or stranger” and Phobos which means “morbid fear”.
