I like some of the conversation in the 1st half of the film and I think the 2nd half of the film projects a different tone because it's very dramatized, whereas the tone of the 1st half is well set up by profound thoughts, meaningful conversation and some of the fine silent moments.
I know that this story has one theme surrounding Chris and this story has to be completed. But it could have been divided into 2 films so that scarlette's acting wouldnt be wasted in the end. The fact that Nola looks so real because she's a jailbait and a failed actress-wanna-be at the same time, makes the death of herself a bit overwhemingly dramatized just because she's the mistress of a schizophrenic asshole.
There could be a film about this schizophrenic asshole and there could be another one for Nola with a better ending.
