From first of movie, Richard seems to be abundented.
After 7 times abortions, he finally servived from life. But his mother send him to an orphanage for 2 years. As his mother pick him from orphange to his grandparents family, his parents divoiced.
Fianlly his mom decide to became a full time mother. But all he saw is his mom celebrate for his dead sblings 7 times a year. He kinda enjoy time with his father. but his father dead in accident. When once he give a speech, he suprised about his talent. When he want to share this with his mother, his mom again celebrate his dead sblings birthday.
他没有得到想从他妈妈得到的认可，开始他很失望，他将演牌扔进了垃圾箱。但是他决定fight for life,于是他将奖牌保存在了纸盒里。
当他惊人的演讲天赋为他赢得了一次大学奖学金的interview,可是他得到的却是出乎意料的答案，教授问他什么是他人生重要的事情。
“I think you’re the most gifted, natural speaker I have ever seen, and you have incredible potential. And you are completely full of shit. Look, my advice? You are not ready. Go live a life. Fill yourself up. Find out what’s important, earn a point of view. Earn a point of view. Then come back when you’ve got something to say. ”
同样的问题在他人生不同的阶段不停地出现，
他的女朋友在他一次次培训演讲，越来越成功的时候离开，他疑惑不明白询问离开的原因，他的女友说她需要明白她的人生的意义，同时也问什么是他人生的意义。
当他的书出版，伴随着成功，他去探访他的母亲，面对他母亲依旧的冷漠，他只是想证明"i just want to tell you,I am doing great"他母亲只是回应what do you want? Do you want i am applaud for you. I am not that wierd.
有一段独白，不太记得位置了，大概意思是当他疑惑到底出了什么问题的时候，God already know.
最后一段演讲“The differences that you make that are the ones of lasting importance, they’re the little differences that you make in the life of another person. And all of these people that I got to tell you about tonight, they all made a difference in my life., and I can only hope that somehow I made a difference in theirs. And that after years, and years and years of trying to become larger than life. I’m now working on maybe being a little smaller.”
