2rd Episode
最后一段太美了,科学得如此唯心,必须抄下来。即使是尘埃,对于我们自己,我们就是整个宇宙,我们的意义是我们自己,毋需抗衡和比较。
To my mind, scientists has told us something pretty remarkable. we human are highly complex biological machines behaving in accordance with the law of nature. Our brain create and sustain our conscious mind through an extraordinary network work of network of interacting neurons. That consciousness creates a three-dimensional model of the world, the best fit model, that we called reality. This reality is much more than what we see around us in our everyday life. A vast array of ground and space telescopes has extended our senses, allowing us to see deep into space. And build a much bigger model than ever before. as we peer further and further into the cosmos, our reality has grow bigger and bigger...we have peered back in time, all the way to the birth of the universe itself. All this, the entire 13.7 billion years of universe exists as a model inside our mind. So where does it leaves us to find a meaning to life? The answer, I think, it is pretty clear. Meaning itself is simply another piece of model of the reality that we each built inside our own brain...love and honor, right and wrong are part of the universe that we create in our mind, just as a table, a planet or a galaxy. It is pretty remark to think our brain, which are essentially a collection of particles working to the law of physics, has this wonderful ability, to not only perceive reality, but to give it meaning, too. The meaning of life, is what you choose to be. Personally, I would like to believe that it is everyone of us gave the meaning of universe.
We are, as cosmologist Cark Sagan once said, the universe contemplating itself.
3rd Episode
There is probably no heaven and no afterlife, either. We have this one life to appreciate the grant design of the universe. And for that, I am extremely grateful.
