A lot of things that want to make us think, that make us want to think in the world. Movie is one of the things. However, movie is a way that let us relax, to make us forget our troubles. A movie should be a pleasure.
“LOVE UNDERCOVER” is a good choice. I watched the movie at first time in 2002. If you want to get the movie review in one sentence, I will tell you that “the movie is amazing, and I never seen a film in its kind better than itself in the 6 years.”
As the action movie that shake us with visual and aural, “LOVE UNDERCOVER” just an imaginary comedy. While the film full of light, warm and sweaty.
The culture setting of the film is base on police in Hong Kong.
Actress Lijuan Fang (starring: Miriam Yeung) is a police spy. She obey the order to investigate the god-father’s son Haiwen Ou (starring: Daniel Wu) whether he had the commit evidence. The police put the slight wiretapping in a bottle of juice potato. But Ou’s ex-girlfriend quarrels with him and pounds the bottle on Fang’s head. Fang’s action just want to the plan was not exposed. “The act of juice potato”made Ou knew Fang. At the same time Ou began to like Fang gradually. The police officer want to get the real story about Ou, so policeman order Fang disguised fall in love with Ou. As we know, the show must go on, and the love and their ending with policewoman and “guilty person” attract every person that watched the film.
The movie’s director and screenplay is Joe Ma. He is famous for Romantic comedy. A lot of Romantic comedies were his children. “LOVE UNDERCOVER” is the representation. The director made the pickup camera on young police and “guilty person”. However, the movie of introducing their daily life is very seldom in Hong Kong or international film.
After another well known movie “DUMMY.MOMMY WITHOUT A.BABY”, this was the second time Joe Ma co-operated with Miriam. Miriam is one of the female super stars in Hong Kong. She had the experience that made movie together with all of male super star at top line. Such as “DRY WOOD FIRENCE FIRE” with Louis Koo, “THREE PEOPLE OF THE SOME KIND” with Sean Andy,“2 BECOME 1” with Ritchie Jou, and “THE LUCKY SUPERMAN” with Tony Leung.
On the other hand, I think every girl in our class is familiar with the lead actor, Daniel. He is very hot and I’m his big fan. Maybe you don’t know that his major is architecture in Ohio. At the beginning, he was a model just made money for his traveling fee. Now he is famous. And he had got lots of prize. For example, with “NEW POLICE STORY”he wins the best Supporting role at the 41st Golden Horse Awards in 2004 and the best New Director at the 26th Hong Kong Film Awards in 2007 with “THE HEAVENING KINFS”.
Besides, the actors in the film have the good timing, especially CD-starring Hui Shiu Hung and Raymond Wong.
The OST and pictures is very good. You can find easily the OST and playbills in internets until today, because “LOVE UNDERCOVER” is popoular now.
The most importance is that it’s the only comedy which let me laughed from the beginning to the end. Everyone saw the movie still remember the classical plot. “Fang will work at Team Two Crime Investigation’s next “LPD”-Lost Property Department.” And if you know word “sir” what spell in Chinese watch the movie! I think you’ll thumbs up.
“LOVE UNDERCOVER” is my favorite Hong Kong movie. It not only is the excellent, but also the outstanding. You worth watching it!
