The first half dedicates itself to portraying a poor country life in an oriental country, an exotic food-cooking dream, and a puppy love between an innocent third-world man and a girl from Paris. The second half shows a bit of a sad immigrant experience, the death of a close family and a desperate life suddenly saved by talent plus hardworking. Fulfilling the liberal guilt and first-world curiosity while leaving no discomfort that inspires further reflection. Bravo :)
