本片神似Matt Damon《心靈捕手》，同樣是講述墮落街頭的天才少年的救贖之路。關於劇情，有這樣幾點想法：
1.只要不染毒，離家出走的少年生活在紐約真的很快活啊。
Jim：Luckily, finding money in New York is like getting laid on the prom, easy.
Mickey：I get 1500 bucks for this car.
Pedro：We should buy shit in bulk, man. We'll put it on the street and make real money.
Mickey：We'll be on for days, nights, weeks.
Pedro：I'd love to go to Puerto Rico, soak up some rays…
2.舊友Neutron打進了全國聯賽、收到名校offer，而同為19歲的Mickey獲刑五年，Jim在拘留釋放後詩歌作品大獲成功，Pedro仍在街頭掙扎…
3.事實上，假如媽媽真的這麼年輕溫柔，前期母子互動又這麼可愛，現實中Jim是不太可能離家出走還大罵f*和bitch的。
