In order to memorize character's mother who died early, the main character named Nancy goes to a shallow to go surfing where it means a lot to her mother. Quiet surroundings, crystal blue ocean, warm sunlight and ocean birds make Nancy feel that this is a place where the God gives her and her mother.
However, during the surfing, Nancy found a dead body of whale which is attacked by a shark. The smell of the blood emitted by the dead body attract the shark coming here. Unfortunately, Nancy was also attacked by the shark. Her leg was hurt badly. Finally, she struggles to land on a reef waiting for rescuing. Worse thing is the tide will submerge the reef and Nancy will be torn by the shark.

One of the surfers who take camera on his head are torn by the shark leaving the camera floating on the ocean. Nancy tries her best to capture the camera and take a video about her and another surfers' attack by shark and the love to her father and her little sister. During her fight with shark, I see her good skills of swimming which she can calculate the time from one position to another.
Finally, the camera was taken by a little boy and the boy told his father who saved drowning Nancy after brave and smart Nancy has killed the shark.
At the start of the movie, Nancy has a video contact with his father. Through this video, we know that Nancy does not want to follow his father's advice to learn medical science. And she quits her degree. However, it is the knowledge of her major that saves her life. One year later, she becomes Dc. Nancy and her whole family come to this shallow again.
In my opinion, if there is no this clue, it is just like a normal escaping-living story. In most of the time, your experience is more powerful than words. It means no matte how much your father told you( it may be right or not, whatever) , it will not change you. But when you experience it by yourself, then you can learn from your experience. Experience is very important!
