Becky is a symbol of the most tough women who moved the mountain to gain the status and property. Being despised by the authorities because of their family background, they never yielded. Poor Becky may be thought as treaky and crafty, but I admire her. She was the kind of women who know what they wanted and chase what they desired for.
What about the ending? I figure that the author tried to give a not that bad result。But the story was still hurtful. Her friend Amily?(forgot the name)was the girl the society accept, beautiful, obedient, innocent, as for me, she was cowardly. But it's not her fault. It's the society's problem.
