Decent eight hours of entertainment/historical drama. Learning about the personal life stories was nice. Though a bit preaching to the choir in my case.
The gay club I joined at community college, one of the first things we did was display a panel of the AIDS memorial quilt. So it's really cool that one of the main characters is Cleve Jones.
And this series was definitely from a San Franciscan perspective. For companion viewing, may I suggest How to Survive a Plague.
