这么渣的人设，开头结尾还来了段那么抒情的独白。要说是男主良心未泯也勉强，应该是自我开脱更多一点。(但说真的这个独白写得是不错)
Summer 1922, my wife and I were on holiday, driving over D... For me, it was a secret pilgrimage. It was as though everything had been waiting for my return. But what did I hope to find after all these years?Happy memories or sort of forgiveness. As I hesitated, torn between fear and longing, the memories began to live again.
18 years later, why have I come back? To try somehow recapture a moment of hope of innocence, definetely longing for her forgiveness, for some sort of miracle. Where was she now? The girl that I wronged so cruelly.
抛开剧情人设不说，JW还是好帅啊，大长腿的优势尽显，不过，那么一脸阳光的表情演渣男好像还不够到位，应该再坏一点吧。
不确定是不是这故事本意就是想表现男主并非一渣到底所以就是让他也带着些纯真的感情，就去把小说读完了。
相比之下电影里的始乱终弃更彻底，还有男主最后在路边见到儿子的情节。而小说里的勾搭和抛弃写得更平淡一些，如果按照小说的版本，男主一时兴起，被乡间的春色和少女的美丽打动，做出了相约私奔的承诺，最后在自己原本熟悉的生活里阶级意识又占了上风，犹豫退缩了倒是也不足为奇。(当然也不值得肯定或者为他开脱，只是说这种事也是有的)但是按照电影的版本，做的可是一渣到底的事情，男主又显得深情的时候太过于深情了。不知道是不是因为James Wilby本人的气质的缘故。
关于亲密戏份，虽然很想吐槽在羊毛堆上估计味道感人吧，欲火焚身还真是不讲究，但是这段戏拍得很美，主题音乐也是很契合了。
看了原著明白为什么这个男主要找James Wilby来演了，外貌真的很符合：
高，大长腿，大眼睛，顺滑的浅色卷发，笑起来很好看

tall, long-legged, with large remote grey eyes which sometimes filled with meaning and became almost beautiful,
Ashurst’s hair was smooth, pale, wavy, and had a way of rising on either side of his brow, as if always being flung back;
when he smiled his face was rather beautiful.
一开始见到美丽的乡村姑娘并没有想从中能得到什么，只是出于对美的欣赏去赞叹，好像还有一种纯真的东西在里面
And Ashurst, who saw beauty without wondering how it could advantage him, thought: ‘How pretty!’
男主在河边欣赏风景一边想东想西，他想起了古希腊诗人Theocritus、牛津的查韦尔河、月亮、有着露珠一样清澈眼眸的少女，想到了很多以至于好像什么都没在想。
He thought of Theocritus, and the river Cherwell, of the moon, and the maiden with the dewy eyes; of so many things that he seemed to think of nothing; and he felt absurdly happy.
书里好几次提到了少女的眼睛是露珠一样清澈湿润的，让我想起了那首苏格兰民歌The Water is Wide
歌词有love grows old and waxes cold and fades away like morning dew...和书里说的“It would only be a wild love-time, a troubled, remorseful, difficult time—and then—well, he would get tired, just because she gave him everything, was so simple, and so trustful, so dewy. And dew—wears off!”
这一句完全一样。中文里还有 “譬如朝露，去日苦多。”看来，拿露珠来比喻爱情，必然不会是好结局。
可是少女说，I'll die if I can't be with you. 如果两个人都只把这当做是一时兴起，不走心，也就不会有悲剧了。
还有一个疑问，故事不是春天嘛，为什么电影改成仲夏之恋了？
