Dumpy as Barney, he might had lived a truer and more meaningful life than most of us.
He got married three times, first to a young and beautiful lady, second to a well-bred and loaded Jewish woman, and finally to Miriam who could be thougt of as the one.
When we were young, we were all likely to be surrounded by all kinds of friends and immature love. But all of these went away when we decided to start a settled-down life. Nothing became so important as your wife/husband and your kids.
Barney met Miriam on his second wedding ceremony, and he did all the crazy things to purse her. Well maybe, that's the impulse of ture love and no one shouldn't be to blamed.
When he determined it was Miriam that he wanted to spend the whole life with and to have kids with, he just did it, which was 100% deserving than being trapped in an unhappy marriage.
Luckily, they did lead a happy life with two lovely kids for twenty or thirty or even more years.
They had a life till Barney had an affair which meant absolutely nothing to him and that sent Miriam to Blair. I believed Barney but I also cound understand the betrayl Miriam suffered. So there is something we could never take a risk in our life if we really have someone to care about.
What touched me most was when Barney started to suffer a loss of memory. It was quite understandable when he fell down and found out that he couldn't even remember Miriam's cellphone number. He had a disorder of sense of time, which was qutie appealing to me.
He forgot the fact that Miriam had already remarried to Blair.
He forgot the fact that he had a friend who had been lost for thirty years.
He forgot even all the miserable times.
But he still remembered how he first met Miriam, the day, the place, and the special way.
Just like he said in a rhetorical qustion, "Have I ever given up when it comes to you?"
Quite impressed by the cemetery part.
