When I stood on the playground I always had a feeling of tenseness. I was afraid of losing, and I was afraid of being mocked. I know this sounds ridiculous because participating the game is a way of showing your boldness. But I just can’t get over my timidness.
Most of the time, we see people fight for glory , for money , for their country. It is so common to hear stories about athletes who take drugs to win the game. However, until I watched this movie, I knew there is such kind of person in the world who runs for god , who runs for his nationality , who runs for pure pleasure , or his own faith. They all had their own purposes. There’s nothing about competition and fight though. What I feel is nothing but joy, pleasure and purity. The enjoyable facial expressions of the main actors which convinced me of his real zeal and passion for running are truly impressive. This is definitely the sheer Olympic spirit we are advocating. And no wonder the London Olympic opening ceremony shows us this exciting movie clip.
So where does this strength come from that kept them running? “From within”. From which is called FAITH. Because of the faith, Lindsay gave up his chance to win the Olympic games in Paris without any hesitation. Because of the faith, Abraham finally win the championship not only for himself , but also for the Jewish. The actor once said, “Every one runs in her own way or his own way.” So do us. When we watch a movie, we always examine our own conscience and compare ourselves with the main characters.
As far as I’m concerned, life is like a long-distance running. We have to win ourselves, and faith is what keeps us doing so.
