Murder on the orient express
After I followed the steps of Poirot, digging balls of clues, just like Mr. Booker having a suspicious of every passengers, I was totally shocked by the truth of this murder——"They all did it !"
Maybe that's where the charm of Agatha Christie's detective stories lies. She puts readers into the case and allows us to be detectives, searching clues and attempting to reveal the truth of the murder together with Detective Poirot. And when finally Poirot draws together all the evidence and break out the mystery, we see light suddenly and in the meantime look back——finding out that all the clues are drawed together, which is profounding but reasonable.
However, Murder on the Orient Express has its specialty.
Firstly, the number of murderers is quite amazing 12. They have fairly different backgrounds from maid, drivers to colonel while going on the orient express with the same goal——taking revenge of a real criminal of a kidnapping case five years ago.
Secondly, the m.o. is cunning and clever. Confusing time order and creating messy faked material evidence all increase the difficulty of breaking the case.
Last and the most important is the choice made by Poirot——not telling the truth. The determination may go against laws, but preserve humanity's understanding, justice and kindness.
