Feather in the Joy Luck Club is hope and it’s the fraction of goose. Oversee Chinese is also a part of Chinese like June and Suyuan. Although the feather is tiny and light which is the symbol of goose in the same way Chinese born America is weeny but they are symbolization of Chinese. The feather which suyuan took left the goose just likes the mothers who experienced a lot of misery left china but also keep Chinese tradition and spirit.
In 1940s the mothers came to America which they thought the place like heaven. In USA they gave their girls too much hope. They wanted to plan their daughter’ future according to their own ideals. They did not want them to follow the same old disastrous road. Lindo one of the member of the club ,when she was young , her mum recommend her to a rich family and made her a child bride at the age of 15 and then she used her wisdom to leave the rich, family who treated her badly .Yingying is a beautiful girl ,her heart was in the wrong place, she married a man who had a affair with another woman and later she suffered the pain of drowning her own children with the man who cheated and played with women’ feelings ,she finally left the man who hurt her .when Anmei’s mother became a widow and one day ,she was pregnant but her family did not understand her ,Finally she could not stand it and swallowed the opium ,she wanted to give her daughter the power to resist this rotten and evil environment and eventually the landlord promised to take good care of them .Suyuan who is June’ mum . During the war, she was also sick, afraid of dying next to her children and took off all his valuable jewelry, hoping someone could take them to her husband. But decades later she cannot find the twins, she pinned all her hopes on her little daughter.
