1.self-concordance
Self-concordance means that we focus on the things we love to do and thus can enjoy our work.
the self-concordant end and the self-concordant journey lead to happiness.
Trickle effect is one benefit: self-concordant goal is like a piece of candle lighting in one dark room. We want to do better when we have self-concordant goals, and then we do better in other area too.
Self-choosing contributes to our happiness, so hold your choice tight.
2.Character strengths
Make the best of those strengths that are most natural to us.
When does it feel the real me?
Identify our strengths and apply them to the problems we’ve encountered in our daily lives.
3.Self-concordant goals setting
Example :
Work can be seen as job, career, or calling.
Calling is the thing we want to do more than anything else in the world. The work we look forward to doing more. Our mission to make the world a better place.
Even though the work we are doing is our mission, some part of it may not be so enjoyable, but the overall experience is really great.
Don’t depend on our work, but on how we perceive our work: this is not rationalizing, not making excuses for ourselves.
This is the truth!!!
This is the reality that most people just do not see.
The noblest thing is to listen to that inner voice.
Pursue your passion, you come alive.
Be the change you want to see in the world. If you want a happier world, begin with yourself.
What can’t you live without?
Tips on setting goals:
Write them down.
Set lifeline.(I'll finish by ...)
Be specific.
Breaking down achievements: long-term goals to short-term ones.
4.Stress
Too many things in too little time.
When we are stressed, we are more likely to narrow and constraint as opposed to think outside the box.
But, what do those who are successful and able to lead a healthy and happy life do?
They set rituals, but meanwhile, set rituals for recovery as well.
The problem is lack of recovery rather than the stress itself.
We should be the sprinter instead of the marathoner: work, recovery, work, recovery…
